Mr. Howell began his career in 1980 as a working foreman with Consolidated Contracting & Consulting. At CCC, he mastered valuable skills in carpentry, drywall hanging and finishing, and acoustical ceiling construction. Quickly promoted, he managed multiple crews, coordinated sub-contractors, estimated and ordered materials as area superintendent. In 1985, Mr. Howell joined Sun Steel as the Director of Marketing and Sales. Managing both salesman and construction personnel, Mr. Howell acted as project coordinator and company liaison in the design, fabrication and installation of steel products. Mr. Howell exceeded sales projections, expanded the territory and increased market share.
Mr. Howell started his own interior contracting business in 1990. As a working owner, he handled all phases of the construction project including marketing, estimating, management and supervision. One of his key clients was Coca-Cola Enterprises where he re-modeled their corporate offices in the Galleria Office Complex.
In 1992, Mr. Howell joined Talbot Construction as Senior Vice President & Director of Construction. He was responsible for developing new business as well as handling the day to day operation of the company. Mr. Howell developed relationships with several key clients including The Bombay Company and The St. Louis Bread Company. While with Talbot, Mr. Howell was responsible for the construction of 16 retail stores in the North Point Mall in North Atlanta, including Liberty Green Furniture, Dolci's, Man About Town, Sweet Factory, Mandarin Express Chinese Restaurant and The Great American Cookie Company, all finished on time and within budget.
Mr. Howell's has managed other major projects, including the renovation of The Pioneer Neon Building into loft apartments, building out interior space at Pinnacle Center for Ackerman & Co. and building an expansion onto Briarcliff Village Shopping Center in DeKalb County.
